Well finally someone has decided to look at the absolutely ridiculous thing that is the National Disability Insurance Scheme something which has got completely out of hand.
The money that is being wasted providing services to people that really have no need for them, when there are others that cannot get approved even though they have conditions that will be affecting them for the rest of their lives.
The process of applying for NDIS is really dependent on the medical evidence provided, but there are many people who even with strong evidence are being refused.
When others, sometimes in paid employment with “Disabilities” that really have limited effect on their day to day lives are being given services to take them for coffee or Transport to appointments.
Then there are all of the children receiving NDIS for illnesses that a few years ago did not exist, and Parents complaining that they are not getting enough assistance.
Now when I was a Kid there was no NDIS and Families with difficult children had to look after their own, now the tax payer is expected to fork out for the care of all of these so called ADHD and Autistic kids, it seems that every second child is being diagnosed with some type of illness . Why all of a sudden is this happening?
Well quite frankly there are some genuine cases but mostly it all comes down to discipline, and these days there is none, you are not allowed to reprimand your own child , so if there are no consequences if you behave badly why stop.
There were unruly Kids when I was growing up but they were in the minority and often lack of discipline was an issue even then, I do realise that there are children who do have a genuine need for NDIS but not the number that are on this scheme.
It is way too easy for a Doctor to diagnose ADHD as the problem when in fact some old fashioned discipline early on in their lives could have made these children quite different.
For some people the NDIS has been a godsent giving them back their lives and helping to provide lifesaving services, but the balance in my opinion is largely in favor of wasteful spending, Providers ripping off the system and people getting services under false pretenses.
I would just like to see the people that really need this get it .
The NDIS should be a helping hand for all of those that have been struggling and the people that care for them, not a handout for everyone that finds life a bit hard at times.
Just something to think about!
Cheers
